Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Constructing the Headboard and Footboard

Cut the 2x4 lumber into four pieces that are 72 inches long for the vertical supports. Then, cut two pieces of 1x6 lumber to the same length for the top and bottom rails of the headboard and footboard.

Assemble the headboard and footboard by attaching the 2x4 vertical supports to the 1x6 top and bottom rails using 2 1/2 inch wood screws. Space the vertical supports evenly apart.
